CO2 Laser Delivery and Heads

AccuWelder Processing Heads are designed for laser welding with mid-power (>100 W) and high-power (>1 kW) CO2 lasers. These welding heads employ a transmissive lens for focusing the laser beam. The lens is mounted in a cartridge-style manifold that Laser Mechanisms pioneered in the AccuCutter series of laser cutting heads.

AccuFocus is a series of CO2 laser cutting heads with many of the same features as AccuCutter heads, but with the addition of automatic height sensing to keep the cutting tip at a set stand-off distance from the material. AccuFocus operates as an independent, closed-loop control system.

AccuCutter Processing Heads are designed for laser cutting with mid-power (>100 W) and high-power (>1 kW) CO2 lasers. The most basic configurations include a focusing lens holder, a gas jet manifold (for introducing assist gas to the cutting process) and a cutting tip (available in a variety of styles and orifice sizes). Other features available include adjustment capabilities for lens centering, tip centering and tip height stand-off.

Fiber Laser Delivery and Heads

AccuFiber Welding Heads are designed to provide accurate and flexible focusing with a variety of features in a modular configuration. Almost any focal length can be accommodated with our full range of varying length welding cones. Available par-focal versions provide multiple focal lengths without changing the overall length of the head. In most configurations, a second lens drawer is included for the cover glass slide allowing easy, tool-less access. Focus adjustment is provided in a variety of means, as well as X-Y centering of the lens and/or cutting tip. Assist gas for the weld can be delivered either co-axial or as a cross-jet flow.

Focus adjustment is provided in a variety of means, as well as X-Y centering of the lens and/or cutting tip. Cutting tips are available in a variety of styles and orifice sizes.

AccuFiber Height Sensing Heads provide constant, automatic height control of the tip stand off through capacitive sensing of the material while cutting. Almost any focal length can be accommodated with our full range of varying length tip extensions. A range of stand off distances is selectable and programmable. Motion to accommodate the height control can either be provided by using the customer’s own machine axis, or by a compact motor-driven slide supplied by Laser Mechanisms.

Robotic Series

Laser Mechanisms’ Robotic Delivery systems are specifically designed for industrial applications in extremely harsh environments. Featuring our patented Remote Actuation drive, these systems provide automatic height sensing to maintain a constant tip stand off from the material while laser cutting. Used with Fiber Lasers or fiber-delivered Nd:YAG lasers, these heads provide a flexible and robust tool compatible with a full range of commercially available industrial robots. The unique design offers unprecedented protection of optics and other sensitive components – leading to significant savings in consumable costs and reduced downtime. With rugged and effective simplicity, these heads are easy to maintain and operate in factory floor conditions. Our Robotic Delivery heads have also demonstrated success in retrofit situations where they replaced the existing laser cutting heads that were both costly and difficult to operate.
